Fairhall Downs Estate is a family owned and operated wine company. We proudly specialise in the production of premium, single vineyard Marlborough wines. The first vines were planted in 1982, with the first bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for the Fairhall Downs label produced in 1996.

Fairhall Downs Estate is situated on Wrekin Road at the head of Marlborough's Brancott Valley. The site is elevated and north facing with light to medium free draining soils -thereby capturing maximum benefit from Marlborough's long sunshine hours and temperate climate.

The vineyard area totals 32 hectares comprising Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir varietals.

The distinctive label chosen for Fairhall Downs is drawn from the majestic landscape surrounding and framing the vineyard, namely the rolling Wrekin hills and rugged purple-tinged Brancott mountain range beyond.

An impressive library of gold medals and trophies awarded to Fairhall Downs since 1996 reflects the success of the company. The meticulous vineyard practices undertaken produce premium wines, yielding consistent quality from vintage to vintage. We, Ken and Jill Small, Julie and Stuart Smith, take great pride in producing our stable of single-estate wines, largely destined for the export market.

Fairhall Downs emphasises commitment to achieving consistent quality in producing premium varietal wines. This includes the consistency of each varietal wine style from vintage to vintage. This is achieved in the vineyard through restricted cropping and meticulous attention to sustainable viticultural practices combined with the skill of the winemaker.
