Allan Scott Wines has continued to strengthen its position within the domestic market with the help of national distributor Eurowine Fine Wines. Export sales also continue to grow steadily, with no less than 30 percent of the finished product heading overseas to the United States, Britain, Australia, and Japan from the 2002 vintage, when over 60,000 cases of wine were produced at the winery.

An ongoing desire to create estate-grown wines is reflected in the expansive range of wines produced at the winery. The commitment of the grower-produced grapes is acknowledged in the appropriate labels, which can be seen in the Vineyard Select Range.

Since being established in 1990, the Estate has undergone many changes to obtain the best possible sources of grapes and to build facilities that make use of the very best opportunities of Marlborough's ideal year-round conditions. Vineyards have been acquired over the last 12 years to increase the Estate

holdings from 24 ha in 1990 to 58 ha in 2002.

Now a truly family business -- with son Josh as assistant winemaker, younger daughter Sara completing a winemaking course in Christchurch, while older daughter Victoria works as marketing assistant for the winery -- it is quite evident that the second generation of the Scott family have embraced the passion and art of making excellent wine.
