Luxury accommodation in the midst of a New Zealand vineyard... Only thirty minutes from Auckland's international airport, Puriri Hills is set in the green rolling hills southeast of the city, outside of the village of Clevedon. It is a wonderful destination for travellers and wine lovers alike. From the main road, the long winding driveway climbs past vineyards which produced their first handmade, Pomerol style wine in 1999. The scenery is spectacular. From the house you look north across the islands of the Hauraki Gulf to the craggy hills of the Coromandel Peninsula. To the east lie the Wairoa River Valley and the Hunua Ranges. Horses, cattle and sheep graze the steep paddocks, and the sun sets behind a stand of native forest. Puriri Hills takes its name from the native puriri trees growing on the 93 acre property. There are private walks through the vineyards, farmland and native bush from which this uniquely wild, yet gentle, countryside can be appreciated. It is easy to see why Paul and Judy Fowler chose this beautiful site for their vineyard.
