As Sunshine Surf Coaching's Head Instructor I have been surfing for 40 years and have level one coaching accreditation with Surfing Australia, Surfing New Zealand and Coaching New Zealand. I have been a senior lifeguard for the last 10 years and am currently rated as Surfing New Zealand's second most senior judge for the professional circuit here in New Zealand.
I have been operating here at Waihi Beach for the last seven years and pride myself on delivering a high quality service.
My priorities are safety, fun and skill acquisition.

Riding a surfboard is one of the most fun activities you can ever partake of and if you find yourself truly immersed you will be hooked for life. Beginners:
We use only soft boards for beginners and deliver a comprehensive surf awareness and safety component, so after you leave us you'll have all the knowledge necessary to keep yourself safe, no matter what beach you visit. How to recognise rips and currents, what to do if you find yourself in trouble, beach type, wave type, tides, wind, swell direction, weather patterns and how to protect yourself from being hit by a surfboard
Elite:
For experienced surfers we provide extensive video analysis and guide you through the information needed for improvement.
Just for fun, improve your technique or hone your competition skills.
