Flavoursome and uniquely Ata Rangi red with hints of blackcurrant, cranberries and ripe, plummy fruit mingled with layers of sweet, smoky, toasty oak. Merlot dominant this year, with fine ripe tannins bringing a velvety quality to the beautifully integrated palate.
Cabernet at 30% is lower than in previous years, but is at a proportion we're very happy with, fulfilling an important role in palate structure. Soft, ripe, minty Merlot and spicy, peppery Syrah further build the distinctive flavour profile notable also for its savoury edge and almost 'old world' complexity.
