Grapes for this wine were sourced from the Heralds Cove vineyard in Kumeu. The wine is made from 100% handpicked Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
The grapes, once crushed were fermented with selected Bordeaux yeast strains and the wine gently and frequently remontaged to extract the fruit characters. After a short period of maceration the grapes and wine were pressed and aged in older oak. Before bottling, the wine was egg-white fined to gently remove harsh tannins.
