The 2003 Riesling is a single vineyard wine from the Two Ponds vineyard in the Wairau Valley. The Riesling grows on a deep silt loam soil, which brings balance and finesse to the wine.
The grapes were all hand picked. After gentle whole bunch pressing, the juice underwent long and cool natural yeast ferment.
The nose shows good intensity and charms with its ripe lime and lemon honey aromas. The palate is rich with citrus and honeysuckle. The wine has a silky texture and a long vibrant finish.
This wine shows very good aging potential.
Huia Riesling is delicious with: fresh oysters and scallops, sushi, whitebait fritters, Asian food, chicken dishes, fresh pasta and firm fruity cheeses.
