Magnificent Phoenix palm trees provide a relaxed subtropical atmosphere for outdoor dining and relaxed easy shopping. We have lots of free parking, and with the Farmers Market in the car park each Sunday from 9am to 1pm there is something for everyone.
Downtown the Mount is situated near the foot of Mount Maunganui (Mauao). The land area of "The Mount" is a narrow peninsula that separates the sheltered waters of Tauranga Harbour and the pristine white sand beaches and the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Here on this eastern side of the peninsula lie world recognised surf and swimming beaches where many national and international sports competitions take place.
Just a short stroll from the main street stands the majestic Mauao providing easy free walking tracks around the base, which any age or fitness level can enjoy. For the more adventurous, there is a spectacular view of the eastern coastline from its summit. Don't forget comfortable shoes, your camera and a water bottle!
